Michael Page is working with a Greater Manchester based FMCG business to recruit a Manufacturing Manager. One of Europe's leading manufacturer's in its field, this organisation produces the highest possible quality products to for many leading brands and supplies into major retailers across the UK and Europe.

Job Description

You will drive performance across quality, cost, safety, delivery and people.

Day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Manage, lead and mentor a team of c160 production staff through various direct reports
  • Lead the site change process and promote a culture of "collectiveness", "teamwork" and "common goal" to drive continuous improvement within the department
  • Oversee all production operations including production plan adherence, labour planning and cost control, raw material planning and asset management
  • Manage significant departmental budget including expenditure analysis, managing costs and monitoring productivity and unit cost to measure return on investment
  • Ensure engagement of team of drive KPIS and achieve targets
  • Liaise cross functionally with other departments and support across these where needed
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities and propose and implement agreed improvement measures
  • Management of processes to ensure company H&S and Quality policies are adhered to
  • Responsibility for meeting and exceeding training requirements, identifying skill gaps and developing team

The Successful Applicant

The successful Production Manager will possess a range of the following:

  • Experience working as a Production Manager within an FMCG manufacturing facility
  • Demonstrable leadership acumen
  • Extensive change management experience with ability to keep workforce engaged
  • Ability to communicate at all levels and to influence stakeholders
  • Results oriented with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and quickly adapt to rapidly changing environments
  • Demonstrable experience in implementing continuous improvement methods across site
  • Exceptional work ethic, reliability and commitment
  • Strong analytical skills and keen attention to detail
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and a keen attention to detail
