Job Description

* Working with the Engineering Management team to successfully deliver our annual capital investment plans.

* Provide engineering support for the capital investment programme, providing specialist advice, technical input and plant specifications as appropriate, working with all members of the engineering team to incorporate new equipment and systems as required.

* Manage multi-discipline projects from conception to hand-over. This includes liaising with internal and external stakeholders, feasibility studies, technical specifications, project budget and cost control, project planning and reporting, site surveys and closure.

* Manage construction activities and overseeing commissioning activities.

* Manage obsolescence of equipment and systems to ensure business continuity.

* Establish a close interface with the operations and events & experience teams (Distillery Operations, New Make Spirit Fillings, Operations and Warehousing, Events and experience, Brands & whisky makers) and technical teams (quality, liquid quality, H&S, environment) to ensure effective and safe delivery of projects and improvement activities.

* Ensure accurate and up to date technical information and drawings (layout, P&ID) are aligned with projects and plant/ infrastructure modifications.

* Ensure Edrington remain an industry leader in innovative process control and new technologies.

* Support our sustainability strategy through implementation of best practice for energy efficiency and sustainable technologies and design.

* Work with the Engineering Manager (North) and wider Engineering management team to horizon scan for opportunities to leverage new technologies, improve quality, efficiency and resilience of current processes and ensure that we remain compliant with changes in legislation.

* Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety and environmental standards.

* Development of project initiation material including requirement specifications, engineering design, budget, and tendering.

* Planning and implementation of project activity including the provision of Safe Systems of Work (Permits, Isolations, Risk Assessment and Method Statements).

* Management of contractors/subcontractors during installation and handover of capital investment and repair & maintenance works.

* Liaise with engineering and operations colleagues to ensure the safe and effective delivery of work activities.

* Ensuring that all plant and equipment are designed and delivered to meet legislative requirements.

The Successful Applicant

educated to degree or HNC/HND level (time served) and have a background in Mechanical and/or Civil Engineering. A detailed understanding of process and production environments, with analytical skills that include the ability to assess and interpret data with a systematic and logical approach is also essential.* Experience in the management of projects from design to delivery.

* Management of financial budgets.

* A sound knowledge of Health and Safety legislation i.e., IOSH Managing Safely/ NEBOSH certificate/ diploma.

* An in-depth understanding of statutory requirements - H&S (COMAH/ DSEAR) and Environmental standards.

* Experience working within ATEX areas or knowledge of DSEAR regulations.

* Mechanical / Industry experience essential.

* Industry knowledge of steam systems, water treatment, compressed air, pumps and rotating equipment is desirable but not essential.

* Process Pipework experience is essential.

* Experience working with architects and structural engineers.

* Experience working with governing bodies and local authorities to obtain statutory permissions including building warrants, planning permission, listed building consent and operating licences.

* Understanding and ability to manage drawings on AutoCAD or similar.

* Experience with working with steam systems, plant, and equipment.

* Excellent influencing and communication skills and the ability to engage and collaborate with key stakeholders.

* A high level of PC literacy covering key business systems; for example, Office 365, Auto CAD, SAP.

Desirable;

* A background in Distillation or process-related industry

* MS Project, SmartSheet or similar project management software

* AutoCAD 3D experience

* Experience with Navisworks

* Experience with Autodesk Revit

* Experience working and delivering mechanical and civil engineering projects within an Upper Tier CoMAH site.
