They are a large, family-owned global company with UK headquarters near Sheffield, South Yorkshire. Due internal promotion my client is now looking to recruit a highly ambitious, Days Based, Quality Control, Laboratory Technician to join the technical team. This would be suitable for Graduate Engineers or candidates who already have some Laboratory or Quality Control experience.Job DescriptionAs the new Quality Control, Laboratory Technician you will be based at the North Sheffield manufacturing site where you will carry out the testing and analysis of a wide range of products and related materials. These include anode materials, friction products and formulated products such as coatings and lubricants. This will be an active role, taking samples of raw materials and finished products from the shop floor to ensure they meet the required specifications.This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing technical department in a dynamic and future-oriented working environment. Reporting to the Quality Manager, and working under the daily supervision of other site managers, the successful applicant will be required to undertake the following duties:Key ResponsibilitiesRoutine sampling and testing of incoming raw materials and finished products using a wide range of analytical equipment.Accepting or rejecting materials based on documented specifications and raising non-compliance reports.Preparation of samples for use in laboratory analysis, R&D or as finished goods samples for customers.Working to strict quality protocols using standard laboratory practices and SOPs.Reporting of work in a timely and accurate manner.Administrative duties including receiving of deliveries and production data entry.General maintenance of laboratory areas and equipment.The Successful ApplicantTo apply for the Quality Control, Laboratory Technician position based at the North Sheffield manufacturing site you can be a Graduate Engineer or who already have some Laboratory or Quality Control experience. Previous quality control experience and familiarity with ISO9001 but be very advantageous but Full training will be provided if not.Other RequirementsPreferably degree qualified in chemistry or a related subject.Good computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.Excellent organisational skills and a proven ability to prioritise workload and deadlines.Ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team liaising with various departments.Good written and verbal communication skills.Previous experience of working in a busy industrial laboratory environment, use of laboratory equipment and knowledge of lab etiquette.What's on OfferThis position will be working 40 hours a week, with a 45-minute lunch break each day. This is a Permanent, Days Based role located in north Sheffield.
