About Our Client

I have partnered with a leading 3PL to support them with their search for a Network Planning Manager. The role will initially be on a 3 Month Fixed Term Contract so will require any prospective candidate being immediately available.

Job Description

Key responsibilities for the Network Planning Manager include;

  • Responsible for the day to day management of planning via inhouse WMS
  • Responsible for the day to day management of the Order Management team, including Managing Escalations, Express orders, Pallet transfers, Store revamps & range reviews, administering claims on behalf of the network
  • Responsible for the Central planning Budget of circa £3.5m, and the overall accountability of circa 56 FTE
  • The Central Planning Manager will support the Contract General Manager in providing operational leadership in all aspects of planning the fleet and providing the MI reports / information required to achieve this
  • Continuous improvement mindset to identify and highlight any areas of opportunity to reduce fleet and costs and improve service
  • Developing and presenting business performance reports, trend analysis and insight to fleet efficiencies, utilisation and conformance to the plan, to the customer and the Operational teams - including financials, KPI metrics and opportunities
  • Lead the transport operations on capacity vs requirements, leading discussions with the leadership team on tactics to address impacts, opportunities, issues & challenges

The Successful Applicant

  • Previous experience working within a Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain Environment with 5 years planning experience within a multi site mixed fleet network.
  • Proven experience presenting, reporting and communicating to a senior management audience
  • Proactive with a can-do attitude and agile mind-set, with the ability to form strong working relationships with all levels of the organisation
  • Comfortable working on your own initiative in a fast-paced, complex and dynamic environment with significant change, ambiguity and adapting to evolving requirements
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, to be able to "connect the dots" and approach issue resolution with a "forward-looking" view to anticipate and address problems
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including excellent written, oral, listening and presentational skills, with the ability to work well under pressure and influence at all levels
  • Live within a commutable distance of the East Midlands
