Michael Page Finance are delighted to be exclusively partnering a global Sports business in West London.

Founded almost 50 years ago, the business has a global footprint and headquartered in Los Angeles. They are the leading sports entertainment business with some of the worlds best known athletes, sports stars and personalities.

The business is aggressively growing within the Sports Sector; they've grown organically and via some high profile acquisitions.

This is a newly created Financial Controller role and you will report in to a very high calibre Finance Director.

Job Description

The Financial Controller will be responsible for:

  • Management, development and mentoring the Sports Finance team
  • Maintain and improve the financial control framework
  • Preparation of financial statements
  • Period end close - monthly, quarterly, yearly
  • Oversee all ledgers and balance sheet activities
  • Lead on the monthly management reporting
  • Analysis of financial results
  • Third party relationships - bank, auditors
  • Assist in the year end audit
  • Ad-hoc as required

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will be:

  • A fully qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) with post qualified experience in industry
  • USGAAP, IFRS and FRS101/102 technical skill set
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to build strong working relationships with finance and non-finance stakeholders
  • Able to influence and challenge
  • Commercially minded with an analytical mindset
  • Sports sector experience would be advantageous

What's on Offer

The Financial Controller position comes with a competitive base salary of £90,000-£110,000, excellent bonus, and comprehensive benefits package.
