The role coordinates reporting activities across the function, ensuring compliance with technical as well as group standards and policiesFull accountability for the delivery of the monthly reporting and accounting close outResponsible for the processes and controls governing the 'record to report', 'purchase to pay' and 'sell to receive' end to end processesThe role delivers insightful financial data and analysis for senior management supporting decision making for a complex and investment intensive business, ensuring safe operation and maximising financial returns of the business.The Financial Controller will provide inspirational and performance leadership to the finance team. This is a significant part of the role as is supporting the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) in embedding a high performance and safety led culture.Primary ActivitiesSet standards for financial reportingDeliver the financial accounting and reporting activities for the businessOversee, review and improve financial reportingOwn the business narrative and ensure this is reflected in all reportingAnalyse complex financial reports and records to deliver insight and accountability for business performanceManagement of the balance sheet and cashflow, including reviewing all balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries and payment runsAccountable for the completion and timely sign off by Directors of accurate, complete statutory accounts for companies ensuring compliance with FRS101Creating a strong control environment, well documented and ensuring continued monitoring and compliance.
