Job Description


The post holder will:

* Implement an existing annual compliance plan to drive improvements against key compliance functions and promote a compliance culture.

* Act as a support function for other teams, responding and finding solutions to compliance queries, and providing advice and support on compliance matters.

* Undertake due diligence for new and where required existing programme partners, suppliers, and providers, when requested.

* Act as a safeguarding support lead on any incoming safeguarding queries, ensuring the internal process is followed and reporting directly to Director of People on any progress and updates.

* Work with the Safeguarding Officer, Governance Manager, and other colleagues, to ensure that relevant regulators are notified of compliance breaches and serious incidents within the appropriate frameworks and timescales.

* Arrange safeguarding training with external safeguarding consultant, for new staff (new), twice per year and existing staff (refresher), once per year.

* Manage all compliance e-training for staff.

* Act as the data protection support contact, alongside external consultant to support queries that ensure compliance with data protection legislation and best practice.

The Successful Applicant


* A strong track record of supporting the organisation-wide teams in regards to compliance framework.

* Demonstrable experience of contributing to improving policies, procedures, processes, and other controls to achieve or maintain robust compliance processes.

* Knowledge and experience of Safeguarding requirements and good practice.

* Knowledge and experience of GDPR and other data protection requirements and good practice.

* Broad understanding of the charity sector and of the relevant legislation and regulatory framework within which the organisation operates.

* Strong reporting skills.

* Strong problem solving skills.

* Excellent attention to detail.

* Outstanding written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and authoritatively to a diverse audience.
