Job Description

  • Under supervision of the Head of Legal, manage and carry out all (customer and vendor) contractual negotiations, including reviewing, drafting, and ensuring necessary approvals are secured in accordance with internal approvals and governance procedures.
  • Proactively respond to requests for assistance, information, and interpretation of contracts to all stakeholders and provide advice on commercial and legal risks.
  • Provide contract summaries and ensure that signed contracts are communicated to all relevant stakeholders to provide contract visibility, awareness, and applicability to each team to ensure contractual compliance post signature
  • Keep and maintain accurate contract records and documentation (e.g. such as receipt and control of all contractual correspondence, contractual changes etc.)
  • Administer and manage contractual and legal databases/spreadsheets.
  • Keep abreast of legal and regulatory developments and any changes to the business activities and report to Head of Legal.
  • Support the Head of Legal with development and implementation of legal and contractual policies and in promoting a strong knowledge-culture of sound contract and risk management practices aligned with corporate policies, procedures, client regulations and best industry practice.
  • Assist and support Head of Legal in any legislative, regulatory, or other legal matters, as required.
  • Assess and ensure that contracts and data processing activities align with GDPR principles.
  • Maintain meticulous records of GDPR compliance activities, including contract revisions, data protection impact assessments, and communication with stakeholders.
  • Support develop and implementation of processes to handle data subject requests, data breaches, and DPIAs (Data Protection Impact Assessments).
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure third-party vendors adhere to GDPR requirements in contracts.
  • Assist in the implementation for all matters in relation to information security and compliance with data protection and privacy regulations
  • Protect the assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference
  • Report security events or potential events or other security risks to Chief Risk Officer
  • Implement and act in accordance with information security policies and procedure



The Successful Applicant

* Ideally must have at least 3 years' experience specialising in Contract/Commercial Law
* Ideally possess LLB degree (2:1) or GDL/PgDL or equivalent experience.
* Ability to articulate/interpret contractual or legal implications, compliance obligations, customer concerns, and be able to explain contract terms to stakeholders.
* Stakeholder management skills and commercial knowledge is a must
* Clear and concise communication skills, both written and oral
* Excellent organisational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through and meet deadlines and meticulous attention to detail
* Experience working autonomously, independently, making sound judgements, and providing appropriate recommendations

* Strong knowledge of GDPR principles and related data protection laws
* Strong knowledge of Contract/Commercial Law
* Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office programs packages is essential.
