As a HSE Manager your aim will be to prevent accidents, injuries and health problems in the workplace by creating environmental, health & safety policies that are understood, adhered to and implemented throughout the organisationØ To develop, implement and update effective Environmental, Health & Safety strategies, policies and procedures.Ø To deal with a wide range of Environmental issues including but not limited to environmental protection / pollution control / noise control / waste management / quality assurance.Ø To deal with a wide range of Health & Safety issues including but not limited to accidents or incidents at work / keeping and updating accident or incident records / conducting regular inspections and risk assessments / writing reports.Ø To create a culture within the organisation that understands that injury prevention and damage control are an integral part of the organisational strategy.Ø To make the necessary Environmental and Health & Safety recommendations for improvements to organisational standards and safety.Ø To ascertain and advise on the suitability of protective clothing and equipment; conducting trials and providing reports as is necessary.Ø To conduct risk assessment including but not limited to COSHH, DSE, Manual Handling assessments.Ø To prepare and implement Safe Systems of Work primarily in the Manchester Production facility; but also other areas of the business as necessary.Ø To conduct regular site inspections nationwide to ensure policies and procedures are being implemented correctly.Ø To conduct site audits with supporting reports detailing improvements and recommendations.Ø To lead / organise Environmental, Health & Safety in-house training.Ø To maintain records and produce organisational Environmental, Health & Safety reports / statistical data as and when required.Ø To record incidents / accidents, conduct investigations and report findings to The HSE committee relevant site and stakeholders.Ø To co-ordinate any RIDDOR reportable matter ensuring that 1) All investigations are thoroughly conducted, 2) All reports are submitted on time to the relevant authorities and insurance, 3) Any follow on matters are promptly dealt with and appropriate remedial actions identified and implemented.Ø To lead and participate in the Health & Safety Committee meetings, preparing all necessary reports.Ø To integrate and liaise with Group health and safety and attend meetings to support and provide input with regards to best practice and shared corporate health and safety strategy.Ø To work with the Health & Safety Executive inspectors and local authorities as and when required.Ø Work in a positive manner maintaining a positive attitude towards the work with the tenacity to succeed.Ø To work closely with the HR department, the branch network or other facilities, relevant authorities and insurance companies on all matters relating to industrial injury claims.Ø To communicate in a professional manner with all Lindab staff and outside agencies to be supportive and courteous at all times and maintain good working relationships.Ø To show a continued commitment to development and attend training courses / presentations / seminars / factory visits as and when required to do so.Ø At all times work within and abide by the confines of all other Company policies including but not limited too; Disciplinary Procedures, Equal Opportunities, Dignity at Work, Grievance Procedures, Anti-Corruption, Code of Ethics, Social Media policy, GDPR and staff & site rules.Ø At all times work in accordance with the company's Health & Safety Policy and ensure compliance with statutory regulations.Ø Any other such duties as maybe required to ensure the smooth and efficient day-to-day running of the businesØ To instruct and task line managers with all Environmental, Health & Safety tasks; any non-compliance, non-conformities, or failure to follow instructions must be raised with direct line managers.The Successful ApplicantTHe successful candidate must have the following background.You will be a proven Health, Safety, Environmental ManagerYou will have a strong manufacturing backgroun - any sector within this will be considered.You will have a proven HSE Management background in recent permanent rolesYou will have a NEBOSH Certificate or higher.You must be able to demonstrate strong influencing skills.What's on Offer£45,000 to £65,000 plus car and benefits.
