Its aggregate products are typically used in infrastructure projects, with its unique Cotswolds Ironstone and Bath Stone used in specified high end housing applications. The business operates eight quarries and two separate processing sites located across the South West, Oxfordshire and Lincolnshire. JQG became part of the Sigmaroc plc group in January 2022 and has been quickly integrated with the existing UK operations. There are exciting plans post-acquisition to increase turnover, through increasing profitability, business efficacy and organic growth going forward.Sigmaroc plc is a group which invests, improves, integrates and innovates companies within the quarrying and building materials space in Europe. They acquire quality businesses and grow them through strategic investment, experienced management and technical innovations.Job DescriptionThe finance team is transforming following the acquisition. This includes process improvement in the speed and accuracy of financial reporting. Not only is this required to feed into consolidated reporting, but local management have a need for more detailed information on which to base decisions as they look to grow the business. This is an opportunity for the right person to make the role their own and implement systems and processes to help achieve this. Key shareholders include C-suite and senior management team.The role is supported by a finance team of 4 and reports to the Finance Director of the Sigmaroc UK platform. There will also be a close working relationship with the General Manager of JQG.Oversight of the management accounts preparation process, and preparation of consolidated financial reports for submission to SigmarocDevelopment of daily/weekly KPIs to give timely snapshots of performance to key stakeholdersBusiness partnering with individual division managers to drive profitable growthAd-hoc financial analysis, including investment appraisalsPreparation of cashflow and profit forecastsImplementation of controls and processes to control expenditurePreparation of statutory financial statementsOversight of payrollDevelopment & mentoring of finance teamMain point of contact for statutory auditors and tax advisorsThe Successful ApplicantACA/ ACCA / CIMA (or equivalent)At least 5 years PQE in a multi-site business environment which operates at paceStrong statutory accounting knowledge and good knowledge of VAT and taxStrong IT skills - Excel and PowerpointExcellent attention to detail combined with strong organisational and time management skillsEfficient, reliable and thorough approachDrive and initiative - the desire to add value, proactive approachAble to communicate effectively and adapt to anyone within the broader teamPersonal AttributesA "safe pair of hands" - efficient, reliable, thorough and with excellent attention to detail.Ability to take ownership and deliver with a "can-do" attitude.Able to communicate effectively, build relationships and adapt to anyone within the broader team and business leadersWhat's on OfferThis is a great opportunity to make an impact and be part of the senior management team.
