Michael Page have been appointed to recruit for an permanent Quality Assurance opportunity based in Leeds. We are proud to be partnering with a long standing business who have recently experienced a period of growth.

Job Description

  • To manage the day to day deliveries and to ensure that all material delivered to site is assessed against the correct standard and removed from embargo within 48 hours of delivery
  • To check, on a daily basis, the embargo list and ensure that all materials where possible are removed from embargo within 48 hours of delivery.
  • To complete all necessary tests required to ensure that a raw material meets the required standards and is for fit for use.
  • To complete all micro, nutrition, end of life and environmental sampling as per schedule to ensure that the company has the necessary results to prove due diligence. This includes all raw material and checks that are required.
  • To ensure that all results are compared and signed off against the required standard, (customer micro limits, raw material specification etc.).
  • To support Analytical Services team and conduct lab testing when required.
  • To write procedures where required.
  • To ensure that full segregation and controls are in place within the warehouse against the site segregation risk assessment.
  • To complete any task deemed necessary to ensure the successful completion of all tasks.
  • The role will also involve admin of QA documents, schedules, spreadsheets, etc. for the QA manager.
  • To carry out Project work as required by QA Manager.
  • To cover Shift QA tasks within production and packing as required by QA Manager.

The Successful Applicant

  • Good level of English and Math demonstrated by GCSE or equivalent) Grade C or above
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification (or equivalent)
  • An understanding of pest control and completion of a training course in this area
  • Good understanding of GMP best practice
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (word, excel, outlook and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience of training others/coaching and the ability to confirm understanding when managing staff.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to manage people, quality or health and safety issues and confident to escalate these issues when required.
  • Previous Experience within FMCG Environment
