About Our Client

I am now working with a heavy engineering manufacturing business located in Sheffield who are now looking to recruit a Mechanical Technician working on heavy engineering equipment and machinery. This is a Mechanical biased engineering position responsible for the upkeep of manufacturing machinery and would suit Fitters, Mechanical Engineers or similar.

Job Description

As the Mechanical Technician you will report directly into the Mechanical Engineering Supervisor responsible for all on site mechanical breakdowns and upkeep of all on site engineering machinery, across the site. You will be challenged in driving improvements, reducing downtime, and moving to a more proactive maintenance system.

Other Duties;

  • Assess the root cause of any faults with factory equipment.
  • Repair machinery whilst suggesting improvements for longer term solutions.
  • Repair faults efficiently to ensure the factory returns to full production promptly.
  • Report all breakdowns according to company policy.
  • Plan and complete all Preventative Maintenance work.
  • Work to drawings and manuals to adjust and repair factory equipment.
  • Liaise with various internal departments to ensure smooth running.
  • Work on new installations and site improvements.

The Successful Applicant

To apply for the days based, Mechanical Technician position located in Sheffield, South Yorkshire you will be apprentice trained or have a qualification within Mechanical Engineering.

Other requirements include;

  • Experienced within Manufacturing or FMCG Environments.
  • Knowledge of Machinery Upgrades or equipment installations.
  • Driven, Self-Motivated with the motivation to succeed.

This will be on a Days Based, Mechanical Technician Vacancy located in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. The starting salary will be between £30,000 and £40,000 and is a Permanent, full time position with long term stability
