Their mission is to help small and medium sized businesses grow, giving them access to fast, transparent and personal decisions on property lending and savings.Job DescriptionStatutory reporting and requirementManage the delivery of comprehensive and timely statutory financial reporting (for both full year accounts and interim accounts) to PRA and to Companies House (including maintenance of the statutory books) and the stock market/investors.Develop and implement all necessary financial policies and control procedures to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.Act as the main point of contact with the external auditors and provide them with all required information.Attend A&CCo to present the annual accounts and judgemental areas including EIR (including behavioural life analysis), Deferred tax, Hedge accounting, impairment provisionsOwn the IFRS9 impairment model and provide regular impairment updates to Credit Committee, EXCO and A&CCoProvide insights to EXCO and the Board on the financial performance of the Bank including variance analysis and commentariesIdentify financial and process risks and create necessary controls to mitigate risks in line with the Banks RCSA processManage the relationship with the Bank's tax advisors ensuring tax returns are completed on time and accurately and in line with the Bank's tax policyRegulatory:Manage comprehensive and timely reporting of financial data to external stakeholders including PRA / FCA and maintenance of historic reporting.Develop, manage and implement all necessary financial policies and control procedures (in conjunction with the Head of Regulatory Reporting) to ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.Support new product innovation through supporting the smooth launch and reporting of new product performanceMonitor changes to accounting standards and new regulatory reporting requirements.Prepare the Pillar 3 disclosures (in conjunction with the Regulatory reporting team)Ensure compliance at all times with the Bank's listing requirements associated with financial disclosures and advise EXCO where necessary.Risk Management/ControlsDevelop and implement all necessary financial policies and control procedures to ensure the provision of an effective financial management service.Maintain the wider controls framework, including the Fixed Asset Register.Provide clear and transparent leadership to direct report(s), ensuring a commitment to the Bank's values.Inspire, motivate, and support direct report(s) so they are thinking and acting at their best, delivering high quality work, working as an effective team, and meeting organisational and individual objectives.Support the professional development of direct report(s) to continuously develop skills and expertise and support career development objectives.In addition, support and if required, cover the responsibilities of the Director of Finance within the CFO Team.The Successful ApplicantQualification, skills and experience:Educated to degree standard and possessing recognised professional accountancy or finance qualification.
