About Our Client

My client is part of a large global producer, a leader in the field of the design and manufacture of commercial poultry incubation systems along with the supporting ventilation and climate control equipment. Their equipment is supplied to a Global market from their Bridgwater base in Somerset.

Job Description

  • Overseeing control panel design, ensuring the manufacturing processes and quality of work is done in a safe and efficient manner to the latest legislation.
  • Adhere to the specifications and established industry standards of the product while also ensuring that they meet the needs of the consumer.
  • Creating wiring schedules for new contracts using excel.
  • Generating maintaining Bills of Materials (BOM's) using the company MRP system.
  • Implementing feedback and making revisions.
  • Evaluating the final product in terms of appearance, performance, functionality, durability, and safety.
  • Involved in the developing of the manufacturing processes and developing the supply chains of our key suppliers.
  • Determining production cost and strategising the most cost-effective means of production.
  • Communicate well with the engineering team to develop and implement the products.
  • Test equipment and fault find where necessary prior to despatch.
  • Trouble shoot, offering guidance and support to customers with existing hatchery equipment or new installs.
  • Keeping abreast of advancements in engineering and production and sharing knowledge with team members.
  • Flexibility in supporting other roles within the company.

The Successful Applicant

  • Sound knowledge of design and electrical engineering principles and best practices.
  • Experience using automated control equipment such as PLC'S and VFDs.
  • Proven experience of fault finding electrical and mechanical equipment including pumps, fans, sensors, and actuators. This is not an exhaustive list.
  • PLC programming is an advantage but not essential.
  • Experience with HVAC equipment and air handling units would be an advantage.
  • Experience with UL508 standard an advantage, if not be willing to gain the qualification.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • to detail and critically minded.
  • The ability to stay abreast of advancements in technology and engineering design trends.
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
  • Ability to establish and develop relationships with internal and external sources.
  • Ability to be flexible and open to changes.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to take ownership working on your own or as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office applications.

What's on Offer

  • 5 hours per week with the core hours being 8.00am start with a finishing time of 5.30pm with 1 hour for lunch, 5 days a week. There is a 1-hour flexible start & finish time providing that a minimum of 7.5 hours is completed per day.
  • 20 days holiday per annum plus bank holidays. This increases 1 day per year worked to a maximum of 25 days + Bank Holidays. 3 days are allocated for the Christmas shutdown.
  • Contributory private pension scheme that the company will match your contribution of 4%. You do have the option of having this contribution paid into a pension of your choice.
  • Death in service insurance 1 x salary.
