Save JobEmail job Back to Search Job Description Summary Similar JobsAre you looking to work for a global retailer?Would you be interested in controlling customs compliance for a large retailer?About Our ClientThe Customs Compliance Manager will be working for a leading retailerJob DescriptionCreate and maintain a Due Diligence Manual & Racms in line with UK RegulationsEnsuring Service providers complete all Customs & Excise processes and declarations in a timely and accurate manner per agreed deadlines and SLA's.To monitor declarations and payments to HMRC (or via service providers to HMRC) and ensure these are correct, duties and taxes are paid in full, on time and correctly, and that any interventions required are made promptly.Create maintain a continual audit programme ensuring all C&E approvals, processes and payments are up to date and correct.To provide accurate cash forecasts for upcoming duty paymentsMaintain a risk and action register flagging all risks to the business (financial, operational or compliance).To be a process SME regarding Customs & Excise supporting other areas of the business to work efficiently and compliantly.Key areas of focus: Import Vat, UKGT, CCT Excise Duty, bonded/suspended warehousing, adjustments, drawbacks, suspended movements, productions under bond, inco terms.To improve business processes and support Business Development with clear guidance and strong, documented processes.Identifying and limiting any risk associated with open suspended movements and working with, 3rd parties and HMRC to ensure these are properly and timeously closed.Ensuring you have correct and comprehensive evidence of export for all export shipments in line with HMRC guidance.Prepare balance sheet reconciliation for Accrued UKGT & CCT, Accrued Excise and Duty in Finished Goods - resolving discrepancies and introducing process improvement and control to reduce risk.Support any cost modelling in relation to Customs and ExciseLeads and manages the Customs and Excise Team, supporting their professional development.Support in all HMRC related audits and queriesUnderstands legislation and best practise.
