Job Description

We are looking for an innovative Group FP&A leader who can deliver best-in-class business partnering, has an engaging and forward-thinking attitude with a collaborative team mentality who can set an inspiring example through personal delivery, energy and determination.

Reporting to the Director of Group FP&A, the role serves primarily the Executives and the Board in providing a deep understanding of whether the company is on track with its externally communicated strategic metrics, financial guidance, and obligations. The role holder is responsible for providing the corporate voice to the Executives, Board and Deputy CFO, highlighting when tactical and strategic actions or different resource allocations need to be taken across the Group to deliver against our corporate strategy and external guidance.

The role holder owns and leads Group performance commentary, having proximity to the business to synthesise a consolidated view on performance of both internal and external measures. Stewardship of the Group reporting framework and timetable, financial planning process and credit rating metrics computation are owned here, requiring the highest standards to fulfil responsibilities to the Executive and Board.

  • Responsible for the production and explanation of internal and external metrics of performance, providing insight of the main drivers of performance against the Board approved Business Plan and prior year, to key decision makers.
  • Responsible for Board and ELT performance updates.
  • Responsible for the preparation and production of Half and Full Year Investor Relations back up pack.
  • Responsible for synthesising the segmental view of the Group, providing transparency of how the internal standard FX rate view evolves to the actual FX rate external view, the impact of actual FX rates and how the business performs on a constant currency basis. This transparency ensures awareness of the impact of decisions on externally reported metrics and provides oversight to the Audit Committee.
  • Own the calculation and modelling of the view of credit rating metrics, providing analysis, presentation and modelling for the annual CFO, Director of Treasury and Director of IR meeting with the credit rating agencies.
  • Support the Target setting process by financial modelling, with inputs from the functional teams.
  • Support the forecasting processes: defining required inputs & outputs; timing of reviews & decisions required; system implications and comms.
  • Analysis of the outputs of the forecasting processes and comms to key stakeholders
  • Prepare and manage the Group Finance Calendar highlighting all key deliverables and managing relevant inputs (i.e. senior stakeholder meetings) to achieve these outputs
  • Manage and continuously improve the Corporate FP&A deliverables and capabilities.
  • Deputise when required for the Director of FP&A.

The Successful Applicant

  • Significant post qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) FP&A experience preferably in FMCG/Retail/Manufacturing environment with good working knowledge of IFRS accounting standards.
  • Excellent communicator and storyteller (written and verbal skills), with the ability to present and report complex financial information in a clear and concise manner and confident communicating with a variety of stakeholders across the global network.
  • Operates with a "no surprises" approach to communication. Inform leadership of financial risks and opportunities early; seek deep understanding of new performance developments; and maintain constant flow of information with Business and Finance partners.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • An effective business partner with strong stakeholder management skills, capable of advising, challenging, and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Proven team player with an enthusiastic approach to problem solving.
  • Have a strong desire to develop and grow the skills and performance of our team.
  • Mathematical and data driven in approach, Advanced Excel, strong modeller & good with data manipulation.
