Job Description

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Finance Systems Accountant to join our clients Finance team. It is an exciting time to be joining as they transform the way their Finance team works. You will drive the development of their Workday-based Finance system (Workday Financials and Workday Adaptive Planning), improving the Finance team's ability to deliver high quality outputs as efficiently as possible, whilst ensuring the system is maintained and remains secure.

  • Identify opportunities to improve the quality and effectiveness of finance systems workflows, reducing complexity and improving user experience.
  • Define business requirements for finance systems, helping drive process improvements and covering technical requirements, configuration, testing, and documentation.
  • Liaison with and management of external Workday support partners where necessary to deliver improvement.
  • Ensure highest standards and adherence to security controls around data and system integrity evidencing effective operation of controls for internal and external audits.
  • Keep abreast of new features across the Workday releases, utilising adoption planning.
  • Engaging and sharing knowledge with the wider finance team to raise its awareness of systems functionality to encourage wider and deeper use of the system.

The Successful Applicant

  • Demonstrable understanding of finance operations and experience in finance data management and reporting. An accounting qualification will be supportive in your success within this role (ACA/CA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Working knowledge of Workday Financials functionality is required. Knowledge of Workday Adaptive Planning (WAP) will be beneficial.
  • Proven track record of using Workday to improve finance processes, overcoming complex challenges within Workday.
  • Organised with experience of managing a varied workload to tight deadlines, working and delivering using best practice with an inherently collaborative style.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, confident in communicating systems issues in a way that can be understood by all members of the Finance team.
  • Logical thinker with the ability to identify weaknesses in data and processes and create solutions.
  • Comfortable using IT service management tools such as ServiceNow and Jira.
