Job Description

Provide tactical and operational leadership to the Information and Communication Technology team defining and implementing infrastructure standards and policies as well as designing and delivering infrastructure solutions and projects that meet business requirements.

Supporting the evolution of our infrastructure, you will influence the design and strategic direction of our technology roadmap and cloud adoption. Work with Head of Shared Services and other members of this team to provide a resilient, secure environment and ensure great customer service and support to the Business.Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the operational functionality and availability of the ICT infrastructure, encompassing data centers and cloud environments, including server management, virtualization, storage, and backup services.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of all ICT network services, covering data, Wi-Fi, voice, and communication platforms.
  • Handle system incidents and problems, conducting troubleshooting, resolution, and root cause analysis.
  • Maintain a highly resilient environment by regularly applying software patches and upgrades.
  • Ensure comprehensive system encryption with trusted algorithms and timely certificate renewals.
  • Implement and enforce robust system security measures to safeguard against unauthorized access, alterations, and data destruction.
  • Lead the planning and execution of policies and programs related to architecture, operating systems, storage, security, and networks.
  • Monitor and maintain equipment and systems to ensure optimal performance, security, and system integrity, establishing performance baselines and capacity planning.
  • Enforce Avanti's IT Policy consistently throughout the organization and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Advocate for technical excellence by proposing solutions that support ongoing service improvement initiatives.
  • Foster strong relationships with ICT suppliers to ensure value and performance.
  • Contribute significantly to the department's strategic direction regarding infrastructure.
  • Take responsibility for the implementation and controlled release of system and application changes.
  • Ensure backup, business continuity, and disaster recovery strategies are in place for systems.
  • Be available for support during out-of-office hours, including emergencies, routine maintenance, and customer service hours.
  • Manage vendor relationships, licensing, and budgetary considerations, including requesting quotations, obtaining approvals, order follow-ups, capacity planning, and license optimization within budget constraints.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

The Successful Applicant

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in an IT-related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Mandatory ITIL certification.
  • Profound expertise in virtualization and containerization technologies.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Teams, Azure, and Azure AD.
  • Proven track record of migrating services and systems to cloud providers like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Exceptional knowledge and proficiency in supporting highly available enterprise email systems and email-related security services.
  • Demonstrated experience in networking, covering aspects such as IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, and RADIUS.
  • Broad experience in backup and business continuity technologies and best practices.
  • In-depth familiarity with endpoint protection technologies and administration.
  • Proficiency in enhancing the security of servers and network equipment, including certificate management.
  • Working knowledge of scripting and automation, including tools like Bash, PowerShell, and Ansible.
  • Practical experience in monitoring and optimizing databases and services, with expertise in high availability and service/process automation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to prioritize tasks to meet business objectives and deadlines.
  • Proven ability to contribute effectively within a team and provide mentorship to junior colleagues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed.

Highly Desirable Skills:

Knowledge of finance applications, such as SAP Business One and iDocuments.
Proficiency in supporting and administering SharePoint infrastructure, both on-premise and online.
