About Our Client

My client is a well established manufacturer that has grown both organically, and through acquisition, forming a new group. This Group Procurement Manager will be instrumental in gaining the benefits of scale / leverage, and driving the implementation of robust systems and processes. The business continue to invest, and have a new ERP system, as well as other group hires to ensure the organisation is resourced and primed for success.

Job Description

As the Group Procurement Manager you will have a rare opportunity to define and roll out what procurement means to this successful group, this will include,

  • Conduct a full spend review with the group stakeholders and prioritise key spend areas on potential savings, risk to the group, innovation, and quality development
  • Take time to build relationships with each of the sites (Liverpool as HQ) understanding their challenges, and outlining how procurement can help and support
  • Define a group strategy and deliver this into the group businesses
  • Introduce supplier performance / supplier management tools, and train the group on how to support a high performing supply chain
  • Ensure the ERP system is used and has data integrity for all the current suppliers

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Already a Group Procurement Manager within a multi site Manufacturing based business
  • Motivated by having a high level of autonomy
  • Used to be very proactive, managing a broad spend portfolio, and regularly negotiating mid / high value contracts
  • Highly credible at building strong relationships with key stakeholders (internal & external)
  • Ideally proven managing metals spends (preferably Steel)
