Job Description

This Legal and Compliance Officer, Watford role involves:

Reporting to the Finance Director the role holder will provide the Group with key support and services in all aspects of compliance, this role will also cover work on contract management and some company secretarial responsibilities.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Dealing with KYC requirements
  • To ensure we are GDPR compliant at all times and in line with our legal obligations under GDPR
  • Responsibility for the companies' contracts register, including early warning of expire/renewals
  • Provide initial read through services on all new contracts, liaising with relevant departments and legal teams prior to acceptance and signature
  • Monitor and ensure account and filing dates are met for all group companies
  • Monitor and ensure any trademarks are maintained and renewal dates met where necessary
  • Liaise with UK, Isle of Man and Jersey registered offices and produces Minutes and ensure statutory requirements are monitored and met where necessary
  • Review and prepare Board submissions for contracts of the duration of more than one year
  • Responsibility for the companies Risk and Governance Register maintenance and review procedures and ensure systematic reviews at appropriate intervals
  • To work on ad hoc projects and tasks when needed

The Successful Applicant

This Legal and Compliance Officer, Watford role requires:

  • Experience and good working knowledge of commercial contracts
  • Experience in UK Data Protection Laws and requirements
  • Proven experience as a Legal and Compliance Officer
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
  • Time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
