Job Description

Commercial & Operational Strategy

  • Develop and drive a clear commercial strategy that is aligned to the strategic objectives of the Business and effectively communicate this through proposals and presentations.
  • Lead, drive and support the Regional organisation to secure activities that meet the organisation's business objectives, comply with regulations, and protect the organisation's reputation.
  • Develop and embed operational standards to achieve solid retention and growth performance for the site.
  • Build relationships with customers and partners to maximize our clients's business interests.
  • Identify and develop business opportunities for added value services with existing customers.
  • Drive the annual price increase process to optimise the return for the UK business to offset economic headwinds for Local customers.



Translate best practice operationally within the site and drive a continuous improvement culture.

Leadership and Management

  • Ensure the team is proactively trained and developed to build a team for the future to support succession planning in the site and region.
  • Collaborates and openly debates with the team to manage projects, solve problems, and discuss challenging issues.
  • Provides periodic review with the local team to drive improvement and objective achievement.
  • Works to achieve goals, while overcoming obstacles and /or planning for contingencies.



High sense of urgency and pace, confident but humble and can make decisions and seeks advice, input and consensus when required.Commercial Development

  • Participate in negotiations to extend and grow the existing customer base.
  • Responsible for supporting new order take and the implementation of new accounts to the site.
  • Provide accurate budget related information as and when required, to agreed timescales.



Ensure the site's commercial account team are responsive to the needs of the customer and drive added value growth.

  • Responsible for developing revenue and cost budgets.
  • Monthly succession planning.
  • Develop a clear performance reporting.



Driving the CSR agenda in the site, with customers and in the local community.

  • Commercially and financially driven.
  • Proven track record of strategic thinking and business acumen.
  • Competent in problem solving and team building.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Ability to visibly lead, persuade and influence people at all levels and develop good working relationships to obtain results.



IT literate (Microsoft Office).

The Successful Applicant

  • Educated to degree level or NVQ level 5 in Business Administration or similar.
  • Experience of designing and implementing continuous improvement programmes.
  • Ideally experience within a similar sector, i.e., high transactional /activity volume, rental of assets, where high levels of service are expected.



Site Leadership of a singular operation or a multisite organisation.
