Job Description

As the Project Buyer you will be responsible for:

  • Obtaining quotes for goods and services
  • Generating purchase orders
  • Implementing contract strategies to assurance supply, quality service, cost, innovation, and regulatory compliance
  • Managing clients to ensure terms of contracts are fulfilled in line with contract terms and regulations
  • Securing supplies and services within a reasonable cost
  • Maintaining a strong business relationship and communications link with suppliers and colleagues
  • Training suppliers on processes and accurately maintaining vendor files

The Successful Applicant

The successful Project Buyer will have:

  • Previously worked in a similar project based buying position - ESSENTIAL
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills - ESSENTIAL
  • A strong track record of successful negotiations - ESSENTIAL
  • Good IT skills - ESSENTIAL
  • The CIPS qualification or be working towards - DESIRABLE

What's on Offer

The Project Buyer will work on-site in Scarborough 5 days a week and will be paid c£20 per hour on an ongoing temporary (to potentially permanent) basis.
