Save JobEmail job Back to Search Job Description Summary Similar JobsWork closely with the Head of Public Policy to build effective relationshipsSupport on strategic advocacy programmesAbout Our ClientA non-departmental public body ( NDPB ) of the Department for Culture, Media & Sport.Job DescriptionThe key responsibilities for the Public Policy Officer, based in London, will be to:Support the pursuit of the strategic purposesProvide support to key strategic programmes, such as St Pancras Transformed and the Business & IP Centre network.Produce advocacy materials appropriate to the audience.Devise and maintain effective and up to date stakeholder lists.Manage the stakeholder database to ensure that it remains accurate, and work with other key departments in the organisation to develop an up to date stakeholder database that can be used for large-scale contact.Support the Head of Public Policy and Head of Governance in the execution of the agreed influencing programme, including: undertaking research from a variety of information sources; briefing and co-ordinating influencer meetings for senior colleagues including members of the Leadership Team; building of relationships with peer contacts; organising and management of events, private views, tours, visits etc for key stakeholders.Support the Head of Public Policy, Head of Governance and other senior colleagues in liaising with DCMS and other government departments, supplying information as requested in a timely, accurate and professional manner.Drafting of timely, accurate and appropriate briefing packs and speeches for senior staff members to prepare for meetings, events etc.Attend meetings with senior colleagues within government and the civil service.Monitor and escalate key legislative and sector issues to colleagues as required.Liaison with the colleagues on specific projects as directed by the Head of Public Policy to ensure that advocacy and media relations campaigns are integrated.Attend relevant programme board meetings (i.e. St Pancras Transformed and Save our Sounds) and report to SROs as necessary.The Successful ApplicantThe successful Public Policy Officer will have: Professional experience in an advocacy or stakeholder relations role either with a private or public sector organisation, public affairs agency or MP.Demonstrable understanding and experience of government and parliamentary protocol, systems and procedures.
