A large manufacturing business on the outskirts of Manchester.

Job Description

As the Strategic Buyer you will be responsible for:

  • The procurement of a portfolio of materials within a category including related paperwork/T&Cs ensuring these adhere to legal requirements.
  • Developing and executing sourcing strategies that meet business requirements.
  • Delivering on KPI's relating to cost, cash, quality, service and continuity of supply.
  • Identifying price reduction projects and implementation thereafter.
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Supplier risk assessments and corrective actions as required.

The Successful Applicant

The successful Strategic Buyer will have:

  • Previously worked in a similar Buying position within an FMCG manufacturing organisation - ESSENTIAL
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills - ESSENTIAL
  • Examples of strong negotiation skills - ESSENTIAL
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills both internally and externally - ESSENTIAL
  • Worked on SAP - ESSENTIAL
  • Good IT skills including Excel - ESSENTIAL

What's on Offer

This is initially a 12 month fixed term contract for a Strategic Buyer to start asap however there is potential for this role to become permanent. The role will pay up to £50k DOE and be a 50/50 split between the office in Manchester and home.
