Buyer

A critical part of the team the individual will be responsible for:

• Raw Material Procurement: Employ the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system to assess demand, generate purchase orders, and uphold optimal inventory levels
• Supplier Management: Recognise, assess, and establish connections with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and nurture robust partnerships to ensure OTIF deliveries, quality products, and competitive pricing.
• Order Fulfilment: Supervise and trace purchase orders, expedite deliveries as required to meet production schedules
• Inventory Management: Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to routinely assess inventory levels, conduct audits, and execute strategies
• Demand Planning: Collaborate with production and planning teams to precisely forecast material requirements, accounting for lead times and production volumes.
• Purchasing Improvement Projects: Take the lead in identifying and executing procurement enhancement initiatives aimed at streamlining processes, cost reduction, elevating supplier performance, and enhancing overall efficiency.
• Project Management: Create comprehensive project plans, coordinate project teams, and closely oversee progress to guarantee the timely execution and attainment of project objectives.
• Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to nurture a culture of perpetual improvement, exchange best practices, and implement standardised procedures.
• Data Analysis: Scrutinise procurement and purchasing data, encompassing supplier performance, pricing trends, lead times, and opportunities for cost savings, to spot areas ripe for improvement.
