Job Description

The Supply Finance Controller will closely partner with the AC West & Central Supply Director and be a key contributor to the operations management team, with particular emphasis on challenging the team on performance, supporting them in understanding the financial implications of future initiatives and translating information to help drive and generate cost efficiencies in the Business.

About the role:

Business Partnering

  • Be the key finance representative to the supply teams in the Region
  • Works with stakeholders to be voice of supply finance in business cases, translate into financials implication to drive P&L and Cashflow optimization.
  • Oversee the costing process accuracy and ensure product costs reflect the most up to date cost of manufacture
  • Challenge the operation on stock control and stock obsolescence and ensure standardisation of best in class processes across AC West & CentralProvide a summary picture of the Region's performance to Senior Management including insight to drive action on opportunities

Financial Planning

  • Develop monthly and quarterly forecasts for supply activities in the Region P&L, inventory targets and capex in line with group deadline
  • Challenge the Business on the forecast and manage the performance with the supply management teams.
  • Work with the Plant Controllers to prepare the annual supply budget for the Region and support the Supply Director in understanding key risks and opportunities.
  • Support the Heads of Finance and Regional FDs in preparation of the 3 year strategic business review (BSR).
  • Ensure compliance to PPG & local laws
  • Improve the level of controls in the supply activities and ensure they are implemented and effective
  • Contribute & provide support to both internal & external audit visits where required

Project Support

  • Drive business case reviews, analysis of cost and profitability to support decision making and enable sustainable growth
  • Finance lead on transformational projects and portfolio rationalization

ORGANISATION STRUCTURE

Reports to the AC West & Central Finance Director
Supports the AC West & Central Supply Director
Working closely with teams that support Operations including:

  • Finance Directors and Heads of Finance in the Region
  • Supply Directors across the Region as well as Supply Controllers in other Regions
  • Financial Shared Services in Brno, Czech Republic and Centre of excellence in Rubi (Spain) (costing, material losses, obsoletes)
  • Other finance function, eg National Accounting Centre team responsible for statutory and tax purposes, who reports to the Director of National Accounting Centres

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will ideally be a Qualified Accountant with a number of years' proven experience at a senior level operating in a Commercial Finance capacity (other routes such as MBA degrees will also be considered in conjunction with relevant commercial finance experience).

You will need to have experience of business partnering with senior stakeholders in a variety of different roles.

Leadership skills, both managing people and also delivering through others are key to success in this role.

Excellent communication, influencing and presentation skills are required.

Experience working within a large, matrix style organisation would be beneficial.

Industry experience across Retail, Manufacturing and Distribution would be advantageous but is not a prerequisite for this role.
