The company are based within the Logistics Distribution and Supply chain sector.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide the operational interface between client, suppliers, loading centres and other departments of the company.
  • Manage transport flows to ensure customer quality and lead times are met.
  • Challenge transport suppliers when performance failure arises.
  • Conduct process development and training to support senior management.
  • Support senior management with reporting and analysis.
  • Problem solve by providing timely solutions to any issues.

Skill Requirements:

  • Ability to challenge suppliers and motivate performance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and within tight timescales.
  • Good knowledge of transport processes and systems.

The Successful Applicant

The successful Transport Planner - Team Management - will have the following attributes;

  • Driven by continual improvement and with high personal standards and integrity.
  • Can quickly gain a sound understanding of the contract and the operational issues.
  • Be able to demonstrate previous relevant experience
  • Be able to work under pressure whilst maintaining high standards
  • Experienced Freight Forwarding /4PL/ 3PL OR Transport Operations professional
  • Strategic thinker for long term planning, excellent tactical agility
  • A calm communicator at all levels to encourage confidence to achieve progression
  • Experience in the automotive / logistics sector preferred
  • Sound planning and people management skills
  • Have excellent PC skills to include Excel, Word and power point
  • Previous experience of working to strict deadlines
  • Team player with good motivational skills who leads by example
  • Closed & open book experience would be advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills both face to face and on the phone
  • Problem Solver - Working to resolve problems at the point of delivery
  • Based in the office in Bristol minimum 4 days p/w
