Influencing total category spend in the range of £300m - £500mCreate and sustain value-based relationships with relevant stakeholders (at 'Heads of' level) throughout Network Rail to support the full integration of category strategies and deliver on all risk, legislative and regulatory requirementsCreate a qualified savings pipeline, in collaboration with all relevant customers and stakeholders, approved by Finance and applicable to budgetsEstablish a collaborative way of working with all relevant customers and stakeholders that supports the successful transition of Integrated Category Strategies to Sourcing led executionProvide key input into developing an annual integrated category planning review, in collaboration with the Sourcing and Supplier Management teams, aligned with all relevant customers' and stakeholders' business objectives and prioritiesRecognised for their expert category knowledge and category management experience, providing specialist category management advice. Introduce innovation, expertise and ideas to deliver category led competitive advantageConduct regular external category benchmark assessments, reflected in Integrated Category Strategies, to include competitor market watch assessments, category trend analysis, market dynamics and innovationDevelop a Total Cost of Ownership category-based model to deliver full cost lifecycle valueLead a team of Category Managers and contribute to the development of the Category Management team to maximise value for the organisation by supporting and providing guidance to peers and input into training requirements and fostering teamworkThe Successful ApplicantSignificant experience of category management, with demonstrable track record of developing and leading the execution of category strategies and delivery of defined value (including savings) within an infrastructure or engineering environmentA demonstrable level of line management experienceSolution driven, innovator, cost and value ledProven level of negotiation and dispute resolution skill setExperience with cross-functional collaborative working methodsPolitically aware, with the ability to use direct and indirect influencing strategiesDemonstrable level of problem-solving experience and in large, complex organisationsWhat's on OfferPerformance related pay scheme (30%)A choice of pension: Defined contribution with employer contributions up to 7% or an average salary scheme that has the option of becoming a final salary pension scheme after 5 years of employmentSeason ticket loan: handy for those who travel to work by rail.
