About Our Client

Our client is a growing accountancy firm who are looking for a Head of Talent and People Services to lead the culture and values, formulate and deliver strategic and operational resourcing projects and plans for the business. The successful candidate will design and implement policies focused on finding the right people, with the right skills and at the right time whilst ensuring an exceptional candidate experience.

Job Description

The Head of Talent and People Services will play a critical role in leading the people experience, culture and values, providing direction and leadership; ensuring that the strategic and operational objectives are me and underpinning the principles of people first.

Key responsibilities include:



  • Accountability for the performance of the people function as well as providing strategic guidance and decision making on people matters relating to your area.


  • Managing and developing team members (both direct and indirect reports), including conducting performance reviews and the setting of clear objectives.


  • Take the lead on strategic workforce planning to identify current and future skills requirements and develop talent management plans to identify, grow or acquire organisational capabilities including effective resource and succession planning and new talent development schemes.
  • Working with the marketing team to devise and implement recruitment plans, campaigns, and activity within agreed deadlines, ensuring that hiring managers and stakeholders are consulted and informed where appropriate.


  • Work closely with the wider People team and key stakeholders to design and implement an effective on boarding programme as an end-to-end process from recruitment to end of probationary period.
  • Working with leadership team to design and implement a talent strategy and road map to achieve our resource requirements for both current and future business needs



The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will need the following skills and attributes:

  • Level 7 CIPD in Human Resource Management
  • Full driving licence - this role will involve travel.
  • Experience of building and growing talent acquisition change programmes from both a strategic and operational level
  • Experience in managing a recruitment team
  • A strong understanding of talent acquisition.
  • Ability to be strategic and tactical when making decisions.
  • Interpersonal and motivational skills; you should be capable of building relationships across our business
  • Increasing talent sourcing within an organisation by improving direct hiring
  • Analytical and capable of reading data and reports to assess complex information.
  • Influencing team members at all levels to support your decisions and proposed plans.
  • A strong understanding of the full spectrum of people services, including learning and organisational development and employee relations
  • Experienced in handling sensitive and confidential matters
