As one of the largest employers in the city, the University of Lincoln offers exciting career opportunities with the chance to grow and develop to reach your full potential.Their strategic plan, covering the period 2022-2027, marks a major point in their history as they focus on realising their long-term ambition of being seen as a university that contributes significantly to the nation's success through regional regeneration and international connectivity.Job DescriptionAt the University of Lincoln, the Procurement & Insurance Team consists of seven members of staff, and this role will join three other Procurement Category Managers, a Deputy Head of Procurement and the Head of Procurement & Insurance in leading on significant Procurement projects.The role involvesProgramme managing a portfolio of sourcing activities within the allocated category areaDeveloping individual procurement project time lines and managing adherence to the agreed time linesResearching the dynamics of (and key issues within) the supply market and developing market knowledgeUsing professional judgement, developing and reviewing options, identifying the most appropriate contract sourcing strategies in accordance with the University's overall Procurement StrategyEnsuring that sourcing strategies are compliant with public procurement legislationBuilding consensus for, whilst leading and advising internal customers on the sourcing strategy for each contractImplementing the agreed sourcing strategy and managing associated risksLeading the preparation and development of tender documentation (including drafting specifications;
