About Our Client

Our client is a growing manufacturing company based in Manchester.

Job Description

* Ensure Safety is a core value on site and the site remain legally compliant by challenging the way we do things and constantly looking for improvements to ensure we are doing the right thing by everyone on site when it comes to EHS.

* Foster a culture of improvement by leading a strong safety community through the coordination 1 st responders and First Aid teams on site.

* Drive the implementation and maintenance of the accreditation of ISO 14001.

* Bring the Sustainability agenda to life on site by developing and promoting the site sustainability strategy.

* Be responsible for overseeing any EHS related inspections & audits that happen on site and feeding results back to the relevant parties.

* Plan and coordinate all installations (telecommunications, heat, electricity etc.) and refurbishments

* Inputting into the design stages of a project and identifying future maintenance issues

* Liaising with clients and contractors

* Overseeing building maintenance and support services such as cleaning, catering, hospitality, security, refrigeration, HVAC, and parking. Will perform this job in a quality system environment and will comply with medical device regulations.

* Manage the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards

* Inspect buildings' structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations

* Review utilities consumption and strive to minimize costs

* Ensuring buildings function smoothly throughout their operational life

* Control activities like waste disposal, building security etc.

* Ensuring buildings meet health and safety and energy efficiency standards

* Allocate office space according to needs * Keep financial and non-financial records * Managing budgets and accounts * Perform analysis and forecasting

The Successful Applicant

* Proven experience as a EHS and Facilities Manager within a manufacturing environment

* Well-versed in facilities management & HSE best practices

* Relevant professional experience including a minimum requirement of a NEBOSH general certificate level in occupational health & safety or equivalent. Knowledge of ISO standards for safety and environment desirable.

* Requires working knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, safety procedures, and cleaning supplies and equipment. Also manufacturing, medical devices, capital equipment, automation would all be advantageous.

* Experience in facilities tender contracting

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

* Excellent organisational and leadership skills

* Good analytical/critical thinking

* BSc/BA in HSE, facility management, engineering, business administration or relevant field

* Relevant professional qualification (e.g., CFM, IWFM) will be an advantage

* Knowledge of OSHA and other environmental regulations

* Experience of clinical waste disposal
