They are looking for a high calibre individual to join their finance team in a newly created Tax Manager position to bring the tax accounting in house. Job DescriptionThe role will bring control of key tax preparation and compliance activities in-house, helping to ensure compliance and optimising tax spend in an increasingly complex governance and control environment.The role will focus on improving controls and compliance across the tax spectrum, providing valuable tax insight to the rest of the business but while providing strategic direction on tax is a necessity, so is the ability for this individual to be able to roll their sleeves up and get involved with preparing returns and analysing data.Reporting to the Head of Group Reporting, the Tax Manager will be responsible for:Management of the UK corporation tax functionReview and improve Customs and VAT complianceTransfer pricingDevelop and implement tax compliance and risk management policies, processes and controls to drive compliance and manage the group's direct, indirect and employment tax risksSupport Tax process developmentReport on tax law changes and impact on the businessManage employee benefit complianceMonitor dividend tax policyKey tax contact for external advisoryThe Successful ApplicantThe successful candidate will be:A fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CTA)Able to build working relationships with senior stakeholdersStrong knowledge of corporate tax and accountingIn-house or practice tax experienceExperience in Corporate Tax, Customs Tax, VAT Tax, Tax Risk RegisterPro-active self-starter with the ability to work autonomouslyHigh-level Excel userTransfer pricing and Patent box reporting would be desirableWhat's on OfferThe Tax Manager position comes with a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
