About Our Client

The client is a large wholesale business in the retail sector and has an office in York. They have a small UK In-house legal function and now need support for a maternity cover. The role needs the lawyer to work in the office 3 days per week.

Job Description

The In-house Litigation Solicitor will manage disputes and debt recovery claims for the business. You will advise on risk management and advise on and draft various types of documents to protect the business's position in relation to defaulting retailers. The successful candidate will also work alongside the retail and finance teams and actively manage retailer and supplier debt issues to ensure exposure is minimised and debt recovery maximised. There will also be the opportunity to get involved in other legal areas such as management and protection of the intellectual property portfolio.

The Successful Applicant

You will already be working as a In-house Litigation Solicitor or a Commercial Litigation Solicitor working in practice. You will be able to start the role within the next month and be looking for a 12 month fixed term contract role. You will be able to travel to York 3 days a week.
