This organisation is a government owned investment institution with a focus on emerging countries. Established almost 80 years ago, their aim is to assist with the largest development challenges globally by investing capital to support growth and innovation. Every year over £1.5 billion is invested in 1000+ positive economic, environmental, or social businesses across these emerging countries including green frameworks, technology, and more. One of the most crucial frameworks the business is supporting surrounds climate emergency, with at least 30% of new commitments sitting within climate finance.

The organisation is now searching for 2 corporate debt lawyers to join their growing legal team in London!

Job Description

Your key day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Advising the organisation on all stages of debt investments including structuring, negotiating, execution, syndication & mobilisation, and portfolio management
  • Risk identification & management
  • Managing broader elements of transactions e.g., taxation and business integrity matters
  • Managing external counsel
  • Interpreting due diligence reports on legal risks
  • Ad hoc matters required by the business including NDAs and engagement letters

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will be a qualified lawyer with 4 - 8 years' post-qualification experience in a notable law firm or international financial institution with a strong interest in development finance. They will have experience working on corporate lending, trade & supply chain finance, debt capital markets, and structured finance.
