Interim Building Surveyor - North West England - Property and HousingMy client is one of the leading housing providers in the North West with a stock of over 20000 properties across the region. They are looking for an experienced building surveyor to join their existing surveying team to assist in dealing with a back log of complex repairs.

Job Description

Interim Building Surveyor - North West England - Property and Housing- To arrange and undertake verification surveys and prepare schedules of minor works to all targeted properties. Once works are in place to monitor the appointed contractor to ensure completion in a satisfactory and timely manner. 100% post inspection of properties following works, liaising with customers and internal/external stakeholders. Recording all works and communications within the organisations case management system.

- Support the wider team in the issue of schedules to the Complex Repairs Contractor and undertake periodic site inspections. Provide WiP reports on Complex Repair Cases at regular intervals, 100% post inspection of properties following works, liaising with customers and internal/external stakeholders. Recording all works and communications within the organisations case management system.

- Provide internal training as and when appropriate. Support the wider team where needed in regard to contract/contractor management and building surveys.

The Successful Applicant

Essential:* Demonstrate a detailed knowledge of building construction.
* Demonstrate a working knowledge of The Disrepair Protocol and all associated legislation.
* Experience managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Detailed knowledge of how and why dampness/condensation issues occur in dwellings and their respective remedies.
* Ability to carry out a range of damp tests and analyse the results.
* IT skills - Microsoft Office.
* Used to remote working and the use of mobile survey tools.

Desirable:* Demonstrate experience dealing with Solicitors and Court proceedings.
* Expert Witness attendance in Court.
* HHSRS Trained.
* Used to reading and creating Scott Schedules.
