Job Description

I am recruiting an interim Regulatory Affairs Manager (6 months) with highly regulated business in the northern home counties (hybrid working - 2 days in the office). The Role:

  • The Regulatory Affairs Manager primarily supports the Head of Licensing and Regulatory Policy in the delivery of strategic and tactical regulatory activities required to support the achievement of strategy, plans and targets. This includes working closely with the Leadership and Wider Leadership community to ensure regulation is understood and embedded in their thinking and plans.
  • The Regulatory Affairs Manager will provide high quality regulatory advice to the business, securing approvals and consents from the regulator, mitigating risk of enforcement action, and ensuring regulatory compliance with our licence, reporting and outgoing licensee obligations.
  • The Regulatory Affairs Manager will also have responsibility for building and maintaining key relationships with officials at the regulator as well as ensuring effective engagement. They will deputise for the Head Licensing and Regulatory Policy as needed

The Successful Applicant

You will have:

  • Experience working successfully in a regulatory role, with a track record of results, either for an industry regulator or government department, within an internal regulatory team for a regulated company, or in consultancy.
  • Experience of delivering regulatory outcomes and playing a leading role in complex regulatory projects, including engagement with senior stakeholders (both internally and externally).
  • Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders at executive, senior and junior levels, as well as with experts, and to influence thinking and outcomes.
  • Proactive and strategic approach to projects and problem solving that considers broader regulatory engagement, and policy positions, and appropriately balances risk
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including an ability to explain positions and problems clearly and concisely and recommend and defend actions.
  • Rigorous attention to detail, particularly when operating under tight timeframes.
  • Proven problem solving and analytical skills, including the ability to build robust and persuasive arguments in support of a position.
  • Ability to identify key information needed to make decisions and exercise good judgement in straightforward situations
