Job Description

Public Affairs Officer

East Midlands

Role:

  • Monitor, analyse and brief on parliamentary and legislative procedures and the political developments in the four nations of the UK
  • Analyse and interpret new policy, guidance and legislation produced by Governments and other bodies
  • Identify political stakeholders relevant to the Organisation
  • Lead on the co-ordination and preparation of responses to stakeholder consultations and parliamentary committee inquiries ensuring the organisation contributes effectively and able to measure the impact of these responses
  • Prepare and disseminate evidence-informed material for parliamentarians and decision-makers allowing the organisation to be able to respond to a range of policy issues impacting the organisation, its membership and the profession

Essential:



  • Experience of working within a policy, parliamentary or public affairs role or environment


  • Understanding of the parliamentary and legislative process


  • Ability to analyse and summarise complex policy documents


  • Ability to work collaboratively across an organisation and maintain effective relationships
