About Our Client

This Head of Ethics and Compliance- Retail position is based in Milton Keynes, the company recruiting is a multi-national design and manufacturing business. The business produces a wide range of consumer goods (B2B). The company has presence in UK, USA, Asia and Netherlands. This role offers a hybrid working approach, the team tend to spend three days a week in the office and two at home. This is a key role for the business, the successful candidate will set, drive and deliver overall compliance and ethics strategy internationally, highlighting and mitigating key risk areas.

Job Description

This Head of Ethics and Compliance- Retail position is based in Milton Keynes, this role involves:

The the regulatory compliance and risk framework across a multi-category consumer goods business, you will be responsible for delivering a robust global compliance, ethics (including ethical trading and sourcing) programmes across the business internationally.

Working in collaboration with Group Head Office and Compliance Teams to develop and maintain the regulatory and risk framework, controls, policies and procedures and the testing and monitoring of the same.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

· Develop, manage, and implement programme governance and structure to strategically align with company objectives.

· Ensure that our compliance framework continuously adapts to support operational, business, and legal changes.

· Rationalisation and mapping of a complex supply chain with a view to developing bespoke ethical compliance programmes.

· Supplier Management - develop robust supplier on-boarding, due diligence, grading & performance management and off-boarding with the wider business.

· Lead the development and delivery of a new digital supplier management platform.

· Effectively negotiate terms and conditions with global supply base.

· Monitor overall supply base performance to ensure targets are met.

· Collaborate with other departments to create sustainable, coordinated plans for business growth.

· Ensure supply chain processes meet legal requirements and standards.

· Support the product and commercial functions to ensure that the supply base is wide enough to provide a resilient supply chain.

· Ensure that all reported non-conformances are rectified within agreed timescales and measures are implemented to prevent recurrences.

· Champion an ethical culture within the business, which promotes core values

· Ensure that all the appropriate/ relevant colleagues are kept aware of any non-compliance(s) and emerging requirements, relating to legal or reputational issues.

· Provide leadership across two sites and to ensure effective processes and protocols are in place to guarantee legal compliance and product safety.

· Liaise closely with department managers, divisional and group technical and compliance to share best practice and always ensure that the company, customers, and industry standards are maintained.

· Lead and maintain Customer Compliance Team relationships across our customer base taking a transparent, partnership approach.

· Ensure that Customer terms are communicated to stakeholders and all requirements are understood and adhered to.

· Lead strategic initiatives as briefed by the leadership/senior management team.

· Ensure that the Compliance team have a 'one team' approach maintaining consistent processes and documentation.

· Ensure the Compliance team has the necessary skills and qualifications to carry out their role effectively.

· Champion the business code of conduct and always act with integrity and due diligence.

The Successful Applicant

This Head of Ethics and Compliance- Retail position is based in Milton Keynes, this role requires:

- Broad compliance and ethics experience gained in a retail business, experience of working with a company involved in the design and manufacturing of consumer goods is useful

-Experience of designing, implementing and measuring compliance and ethics programmes

-Advisory experience on key areas of compliance and ethics at all levels (up to Board level)

-Compliance and ethics training experience

-Team management experience is useful

-Anti-bribery and corruption, ethics, supplier due diligence, KYC and supply chain risk management experience

-Experience of working with ETI Base Code and good understanding of ILO Convention
