Job Description

The Key Responsibilities for this VAT Specialist/Management Accountant role based in Milton Keynes are: -

  • VAT returns and VAT advice to clients;
  • Recording financial transactions on a day to day basis;
  • Reconciling balance sheet ledgers;
  • Posting monthly journals (payroll, accruals, prepayments, etc);
  • Reviewing debtors & creditors, and investigating differences;
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns through MTD;
  • Managing a varied portfolio of clients;
  • Assisting managers with any ad hoc project work required by clients;
  • Producing records up to trial balance;
  • Producing management accounts reports and analysis for some clients;
  • Assisting with training of other team members.
  • All this on various accounting systems including Xero, Dext, Sage and IRIS

The Successful Applicant

As the Ideal Candidate for this VAT Specilaist/Management Accountant role you will be: -

  • Completing, have completed or at the very least looking to complete a qualification up to chartered level, be this ACA, ACCA, or AAT, although QBE will be considered.
  • Keen to develop their knowledge of VAT schemes, rates & rules.
  • Able to demonstrate interest in the rapid advancement in bookkeeping technology.
  • Meticulous, conscientious and self-motivated.
  • approach their work with commercial aptitude in order to work quickly, & accurately, and to meet deadlines.
  • self-motivated, able to use their initiative and possess excellent organisational skills.
  • able to communicate easily and confidently with clients and senior management
