Save JobEmail job Back to Search Job Description Summary Similar JobsCareer Progression OpportunityChance to build and contribute to the wider community & cultureAbout Our ClientA prominent Welsh Not-for-Profit, centred around community development & support.With a rich history of supporting thousands of families, businesses and communities throughout Wales, we believe in providing a life-changing service across the country.Job DescriptionThis is a fantastic opportunity for a MCIPS qualified senior purchasing manager to work for a fantastic Not-for-Profit Organisation.The organisation is looking for someone to develop the strategic procurement function for the organisation.The role will include:- Developing and delivering effective procurement strategies that meet the specific needs of the Directorate. - Transforming the procurement function and ensuring an appropriate structure is in place to effectively deliver the strategy. - Managing and monitoring procurement activity to meet internal and external stakeholder expectations. - Developing and leading the procurement team to maximise the benefits of procurement activity and ensure cost savings and supply chain procedures are implemented and maintained. - Reviewing and reporting on targets and key performance indicators for procurement activity to senior management and directors. - Engaging with end-users to promote best practices in contracts and procurement activity. - Developing and maintaining systems for procurement data, benchmarking, commercial analysis, and procurement savings. - Facilitating supplier development, particularly with smaller and local suppliers. - Staying up to date with changes in legislation and the operating environment to ensure compliance and risk management. - Increasing value for tenants through improved procurement practice and cost savings. - Collaborating with the Community Benefit team to prioritise the Community Benefit partnering agreements within procurement contracts. - Promoting a climate of accountability, openness, collaboration, and innovation. - Interacting with the Group Board, Senior Leadership Team, staff, volunteers, customers, suppliers, key partners, and other strategic stakeholders. Additionally, you will be responsible for your own learning and development, keeping your CPD records up to date.The Successful ApplicantThe successful candidate will:Be a graduate of MCIPS or equivalent, with at least 3 years' experience at a strategic senior management level in a relevant roleHave significant knowledge of the management of a company and strategic business planning and deliveryHave highly developed communication skills and be able to evidence their skills in persuasion and negotiationDemonstrate proven experience of leading and developing a strategic procurement teamExperienced in working in complex, changing environments with high standards of governance and accountabilityHave an advanced knowledge of contractual lawBe aligned to our values and vision and committed to ensuring we achieve great value for our tenantsWhat's on OfferMy client is committed to ensuring that they provide a great place to work.
