About Our Client

Our client is a multi-disciplined manufacturing facility, supporting the events and entertainment sector in the UK. They are seeking an IT Support Engineer - Events Manufacturing who will facilitate the daily operation and maintenance of the IT systems, provide support in line with business strategy.

Job Description

As the IT Support Engineer - Events Manufacturing, you will be responsible for:

  • Conducting initial triage of user IT technical issues by asking targeted questions to diagnose problems
  • Providing an effective interface between users and the IT Managed Service Providers to enable a speedy resolution of technical issues
  • Guide users in the use of IT systems with simple, step-by-step instructions
  • Configure and install user PCs as required and manage the IT inventory
  • Managing new starter IT onboarding and familiarisation as well as delivering training and use of IT systems and Software to staff
  • Assisting in identifying improvements and upgrades to IT systems to support the business strategy and evaluate and make recommendations on technical architecture proposals presented by technology partners
  • Support the delivery of IT system improvements by IT Managed Services Providers and implement at an operational level any technologies or methodologies required to support the business
  • Function as Technical Representative (or technical input as required) for IT improvement projects


The Successful Applicant

The successful IT Support Engineer - Events Manufacturing will have demonstrated experience working within IT Support function including:

  • A proven history of implementing and delivering technical services within IT and a business environment whilst showing strong technical resolution skills
    An ability to communicate effectively and confidently for a customer facing role



Technical Skills:

  • Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Exchange Server, Vmware Virtualisation, Firewalls,
  • Cloud based solutions
  • Sage 50/Payroll



Soft Skills

  • Positive attitude to work
  • Highly organised and able to work flexibly, under pressure
  • Willingness to undertake relevant training as appropriate



What's on Offer

The appointed IT Support Engineer - Events Manufacturing will be working on-site 5 days per week (8-5pm). Based outside of central York (West), our client is offering salary up to £30,000 + benefits, this is a permanent contract working in the Manufacturing and Production sector.
