Senior Legal Counsel - Financial Services

This is an opportunity for an experienced lawyer with Financial Services experience to join the in-house function of an organisation based in the Midlands.

This is a senior appointment, reporting into the Head of Legal. The team are looking for a lawyer with a background in the FS world (either in practice or in-house) who will be able to deal with general commercial advisory work as well as regulatory work, consumer credit work and other niche areas related to the world of finance.

The role will report into the Head of Legal and you will have access to senior stakeholders throughout the business, including deputising for the Head in board meetings and other important commercial discussions.

The team need somebody who, as well as being a strong technical lawyer, has the gravitas to deal with and challenge stakeholders within the business. This is not a role for a strong technical lawyer who perhaps wants to move away from private practice for an in-house role that will simply involve drafting contracts each day. The role will be challenging but rewarding. Expect to be challenged by stakeholders in the business regularly.
