Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Compliance Management:
  • Take ownership of the entire compliance process, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of tax returns and adherence to relevant regulations.

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of non-UK domiciled tax laws, international tax regulations, and residency tax requirements.
  • Review US tax returns and effectively communicate feedback and suggestions to the team, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaborate with senior staff to sign off on completed tax returns in accordance with agreed timelines.
  1. Team Management and Development:
  • Provide line management to junior staff, guiding and supporting them in their day-to-day responsibilities.
  • Delegate work to team members, ensuring an equitable distribution of tasks and fostering their technical and soft skill development.
  • Share your expertise and train team members to enhance their understanding of tax-related concepts.
  1. Comprehensive Tax Knowledge:
  • Possess knowledge of other areas of tax, such as estate/gift tax, IHT, and corporate tax, to identify situations requiring involvement of specialists within the company.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and experts within the firm to provide clients with comprehensive tax solutions.
  1. Client Management and Relationship Building:
  • Manage client relationships, ensuring effective communication, and maintaining a high level of client satisfaction.
  • Proactively meet internal and external deadlines, demonstrating a strong sense of responsibility and commitment to client service.
  • Take the lead in the billing process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness, and working towards prompt payment from clients.

The Successful Applicant

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Hold ATT and CTA qualifications or be actively working towards obtaining them.
  • Possess extensive experience in non-UK domiciled tax / international tax, and ideally gained within a reputable tax consultancy or accounting firm.
  • Familiarity with other areas of tax, such as estate/gift tax, IHT, and corporate tax, is highly beneficial.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor junior staff effectively.
  • Strong client management abilities, including relationship building and meeting deadlines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring work meets expected standards and minimising risk.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively convey complex tax matters to clients and colleagues.
