The client is a leading wealth management firm in the UK, providing financial planning and investment management services.

Job Description

The Business Controls team plays a key part in this by providing oversight of high-risk business processes and becoming a centre of excellence for these processes. They analyse, triage and resolve pain points, including defining and delivering targeted training and providing guidance to client-facing teams to ensure alignment to strategy and objective.This Associate role plays an important part in the overall support provided to the client-facing teams. The main objective of the role will be to undertake and monitor selected operational activities, identify opportunities for improvement and work with stakeholders to implement and embed them.Responsibilities Include:

  • To triage tasks, business processes and issues. Process modelling, risk definition, development of smarter process outcomes.
  • Working closely with first line of defence Operational Risk and Process Architecture and wider Chief Administration Office, undertaking root cause analysis of operational events, and devising an action plan to address issues.
  • Review and continuous monitoring of the end-to-end client-facing fee instruction processes.
  • Playing an active role in department development and evolution.
  • Sampling of processes / effectiveness of controls to identify opportunities for improvement including identifying training needs, hosting training sessions, competency issues and process improvements.
  • Specifying reports and associated management information, providing focus on CASS breaches, interventions, targeted training requirements, lessons learnt, trend analysis, behavioural patterns and working with the Data team to arrange delivery.



The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate would need to be:

  • Experienced and competent at managing small business projects and coordinating business initiatives in a structured manner.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Superior standard of written and spoken English.
  • Excellent MS Office 365 skills. PowerBi knowledge desirable.
  • Numerate and able to define Management Information (MI) fit for purpose.
  • Strong report writing experience.
  • Eager to learn about the Wealth Management business and to broaden your knowledge base
  • Comfortable interacting and communicating with people at all levels of the organisation and challenging demands, if necessary.
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail, taking pride in high quality output.
  • Able to focus on priorities and follow tasks through to completion.
  • Expert at multi-tasking.

Experience:

  • Experience of working in an operational environment would be preferred, where root cause problem solving, and continuous improvement are evident.
  • Some experience of working in an asset management firm, private wealth firm or a bank.
  • Proven project management skills: well organised and able to motivate and manage a group to deliver good outcomes for clients and colleagues.
