We are proud to be working with a global supplier of marketing materials who have a strong presence across the UK and Europe. The business work with a global network of customers across a range of different industries with over 200 employees working from 9 offices around the world.

At the forefront of the market, the business offer a number of different service levels from a basic package of unbranded print through to a full service design, print and distribution service.

They are now looking to add an Account Manager to their hugely successful sales team.

Job Description

Reporting into the Head of Sales, you will inherit a portfolio of high profile customers with a varied annual spend, with the largest being £1m.

Some of your day to day responsibilities will include:

  • You will be responsible for up selling, cross selling and being the main point of contact for your customer base.
  • Achieve and exceed sales revenue within your customer portfolio
  • Manage strategic relationship with each assigned VIP and Key Account.
  • This includes regular monthly and quarterly reviews, sales planning and intervention strategies to increase revenue and gross margin.
  • Demonstration of new products and services.
  • Working with the customer to create a strong commercial relationship.
  • Managing a number of key Accounts and VIP a Accounts
  • Generate sales among assigned customers, including upselling, and cross-selling
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with your assigned clients.
  • Main point of contact for clients face to face, by phone and email but working through a buddy arrangement with customer services.
  • Work with the Head of Sales to forecast customer spend monthly and annually.
  • Understand the order management process and assist customer services on an ad hoc basis when necessary.
  • Make sure clients receive requested quotes, product information and solutions in a timely fashion
  • Identify opportunities to grow business with existing clients and help them promote our products through their business.
  • Ensure SLA's are met for each client.
  • Manage and resolve RMA's to agreed time frame.
  • Overall responsibility for customer's margins. Ensure agreed margin targets are met and a mapped-out development plan to grow margin is in place.
  • Manage contract pricing and ensure correct procedures are met and maintained monthly.
  • Weekly Aged debt review with finance and managing with your customers.

The Successful Applicant

To be successful in your application for the role of Key Account Manager, we are looking for the following experience:

  • Proven track record in an Account Management capacity in a B2B environment
  • A highly motivated and driven sales professional focused on achieving goals through partnership and strong relationships.
  • Developed commercial acumen demonstrating strong negotiation skills and a broad understanding with a balance between financial and non-financial KPI / dashboard management.
  • Naturally commercial with a level of personal ambition that supports collective achievement rather than purely personal achievement of revenue goals.
  • Strong and clear business focus with the ability to anticipate trends and implement actions to capitalise on opportunities.
  • Personable, professional, and conscientious. A team player able to work closely with sales colleagues and across the wider business. Culturally adaptable and a strong and open communicator.
  • An ability to capture detailed product knowledge and highlight the key features and benefits over competitive products.
  • Demonstrates personal commitment to take responsibility and overcome obstacles to achieve results; creates a 'can do' environment where everyone works to shared goals.
  • An affinity with family company values and the intention of building and protecting a legacy not only for the family, but for current and future employees.
  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to converse at all levels.
