Our client a non-ministerial government department of the Government of the United Kingdom and plays an important role in the development of UK law, based in the City of London.

Job Description

The successful Systems Administrator - London - Public Sector and Government will:

  • Line management of the Systems Administrator and first line support.
  • On occasion, to provide advice to the Head of IT and Building Services and other senior management (including the Chief Executive) on the provision and development of IT services, ensuring it supports the aims and strategy and meets the requirements for excellence.
  • Supporting the management of the various technology contracts and contractors and suppliers as delegated by the ICT Services Manager.
  • Ensuring that the security of the organisation infrastructure conforms to Cybersecurity best practices and maintaining/developing in accordance with advice from NCSC/GCHQ as appropriate.
  • The continued development and improvement of the infrastructure, using innovative ideas and technology, offering users improved and business functional services, and reducing overall cost.
  • Understanding and applying the principles of networking, protocols and associated technologies (specifically this should include the latest published versions of OSI layer model, TCP/IP, routing, switching, WAN and LAN).
  • Carry out system upgrades to network hardware, software and operating systems.

The Successful Applicant

The successful Systems Administrator - London - Public Sector and Government will:

  • Microsoft Windows, including Dynamics
  • LAN & WAN (Cisco, Juniper CLI, DNS, DHCP)
  • IT architecture, infrastructure, and cloud (Azure, Server 2019, SQL, Linux, Intune, Sophos, Windows 10, MDM)
  • AV and Broadcast (RTMP, NDI, Azure Media Services)
  • Website technical Management (Azure Web Apps, SSL, DNS)
